Construction & Demolition Waste

Construction and demolition waste is not collected at the curbside in Aurora.

Construction and demolition waste consists mainly of concrete, brick, asphalt, metals, wood and gypsum (drywall). Guided by the 4 R's (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Recover), you can help lessen the impact on the environment by diverting some of this waste through our various programs.

Help reduce the amount of waste that ends up in a landfill by recycling your leftover building supplies at York Region's Community Environmental Centre in the City of Vaughan .

You may also consider the following alternatives:

• Donate construction and demolition materials that you don't need to a local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity or a similar organization
• Check with local salvagers before purchasing new products. Used or excess buiding supplies such as lumber, cabinets, doors, windows and flooring in good condition are available for greatly reduced prices
• Consider renovating your space instead of completely gutting and rebuilding it
